Context
There are five main, interrelated contextual issues that influence teachers' ultimate decisions about how best to address their students' needs as it pertains to using ICT to assist with developing English literacy in preparation for post-secondary education:
1. Churchill students' backgrounds and aspirations (including familial influence) as well as students' personal resources and knowledge/skill (especially as it pertains to ICT)
2. English proficiency and literacy definitions
3. Alberta Education's curriculum and assessment practices
4. Post-secondary requirements for English proficiency and literacy
